Published in 1984, The House on Mango Street was one of my favorite novels growing up. If follows the life of a Mexican girl named Esperanza Cordero, trying to get out of a Chicago ghetto. Here is an excerpt from one vignette entitled My name. Enjoy!

Nice reading - I like the addition of music in this episode, that you included a picture of the novel and that you stated where you are. Suggestions for the next episode: introduce yourself, provide the date, and consider adding a segment at the end that informs the listener what your next episode will be about so that they are sure to tune in.
